Frequently asked questions
What can a video urgent-care visit treat?
Common urgent concerns like cold and flu symptoms, sore throat, sinus issues, rashes, UTIs, and similar conditions where a clinician can assess you by video. Our intake screens every booking — if your symptoms suggest something a video visit can't safely handle, we'll stop the booking and point you to in-person or emergency care, and you won't be charged.
How fast can I be seen?
Provider cards show real next-available times — often the same day. The times you see are live availability, not estimates.
How much does a visit cost?
Each clinician sets their own per-visit price, shown on their card before you book. There are no memberships or hidden fees; the price you see is what you pay.
What's your refund policy?
Cancel 24 hours or more before your visit for a full automatic refund. If a visit fails for technical reasons, either side can report it and you're refunded automatically.
Can I get a prescription?
When clinically appropriate, yes — prescriptions are sent electronically to your pharmacy. Our clinicians do not prescribe controlled substances through the platform, and the platform itself enforces that rule.
Do you take insurance?
Not directly at launch. Visits are self-pay, and you can download a superbill after any completed visit to submit to your insurer for possible out-of-network reimbursement. HSA/FSA cards typically work.
Are the clinicians licensed?
Yes — every provider's license is verified against primary sources before they can see patients, and re-verified continuously. You'll only ever be shown clinicians licensed for your state.
Are the reviews real?
Only patients who completed a visit with a provider can review them — reviews are verified by construction, and moderated before publication.
What happens after my visit?
Your clinician writes a visit summary you can read in your account, sends any prescriptions to your pharmacy, and you have a seven-day message window for follow-up questions about your visit.
Is my information private?
Your health information is used to provide your care — it never appears in marketing, analytics, or notification content. See our privacy policy for the full picture.
Can I delete my account?
Yes, from your account settings on web or in the app. Deletion signs you out everywhere immediately; records that medical-record retention law requires (like signed clinical notes) are retained as the law requires.
What if I'm having an emergency?
Call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. United Medical provides scheduled video visits and is not for emergencies — and our intake will refuse bookings that look like one.
